Service Description

We will deliver to your doorstep Sipsmith Gin made in London They make their spirits by hand in genuinely small batches. Dedicated Distillers watch over every drop of every batch as they passionately believe this is the only way to hand craft spirits of this quality. Inspired by the two hundred years of London distilling history inherited, they balance modern technology with traditional recipes and techniques. Botanicals are carefully sourced from all over the globe – choosing only the very best quality ingredients. The recipe was inspired by one Founder Master Distiller Jared in an eighteenth century book called The Compleat Body of Distilling. Each day load the stills with pure English wheat spirit and only enough botanicals to make one batch of gin in each still a technique known as ‘one-shot’ distilling and never making a gin concentrate or adding spirit after distillation. Carefully crafted recipe of botanicals are added to the stills the evening before to allow them to macerate overnight and imbue the ‘alcoholic wash’ with flavour. They typically macerate for around 14 hours but can be as long as three days in the case of our V.J.O.P. Stills are switched on each morning around 8am and the process of distillation begins. The stills heat up to 80° allowing the alcohol, which boils at 78.3° to turn into vapour, but leaves the liquid water behind. As the vapour travels around the still it makes contact with the copper surfaces and condenses back into a liquid, each time becoming purer, soother and more sippable. Once it has completed its journey from pot the helmet and over the ‘swan’s neck’ the gin reaches the condenser where the vapour turns back into a liquid for the final time, runs off a pipe known as the ‘point of pleasure.’ The liquid comes in three distinct parts the heads, the hearts and the tails. We take only the very best, the heart cut, which is then brought to bottling strength with addition of pure water and is bottled and sipped Luxury Grazing Platter specially designed for Rule of Six Garden Events by Gourmet Deli in Leigh On Sea Extra menus on request Sipsmith Gin Experience Luxury Grazing Platter Hampers packaging available on request Deposit A deposit is required and proof of age is 18 years and over to confirm the booking.
